It feels good to have passed that driving test after all the hard work you’ve put into it, doesn’t it? After all, you’ve earned it, and it’s something to be proud of.

However, that isn’t necessarily the end of your learning path in driving.

Remember that although we will have covered many aspects of driving, not just to pass your test , but to try to make you a safe driver for the rest of your driving life, there is still a lot that can be learned and / or developed.

For instance – we won’t have covered motorway driving, because as a learner you won’t have been legally allowed to drive on motorways.

A Pass Plus course will cover motorways, as well as going into situations / areas you may not have been into before, or at different times of day. For instance, it is possible that all your lessons may have been done in daylight, and you will want to experience driving at night.

As a bonus, maybe your insurance will be cheaper on completion of the course, depending on your insurance company.

Once you have gained experience driving on your own, you may want to take your driving to a bit higher level. For instance you could take a course with the Institute of Advanced Motorists. At the end of the course, there is a driving test with a Police examiner, and then on successful completion you will be a Member of the Institute of Advanced Motorists.

Alternatively you might just want to take a couple of motorway lessons before you venture out on them on your own.

Whatever you decide to do to further enhance your driving, or if you merely want some advice on a particular driving topic, please feel free to contact me, and I’ll try my best to give you a reply as soon as possible.

Good luck with your driving in the future, and try to keep it as safe and enjoyable as possible.

Remember that if you get 6 penalty points on your licence in the first two years, then you will have your licence revoked, and you will have to go through the whole process again.
