VERY
IMPORTANT

Your
Instructor
- When your Driving
Instructor arrives, he or she should be displaying their
ADI (Approved Driving Instructor) or PDI (Potential
Driving Instructor)badge in the front windscreen on the
passenger side.
- If the badge is a green
octagonal shape, the instructor is a fully qualified ADI
(Approved Driving Instructor), approved by the DSA
- If the badge is a pink
triangular shape, then the instructor is a PDI (Potential
Driving Instructor), is not yet fully qualified but has
passed the first two parts of the qualifying exams, and is
working towards the third and last part.
- The instructor's
photograph should also be displayed towards the inside of
the windscreen.
- Both green badge holders
and pink badge holders are entitled to charge a fee for
instruction.
- If the instructor is not
displaying either a green badge or a pink badge, then they
are probably not qualified to give instruction, and as
such cannot legally charge a fee, and may be teaching
illegally and not to the required standard.
- Also please be very
cautious if you are offered what seems like a ridiculously
low rate for driving lessons. Please read the SMALL PRINT,
of which there will be some somewhere - all is not
necessarily what it seems. These cheap lessons (eg
£99 for 10 lessons) will usually be linked in with a
lot more expensive lessons, and you may have to sign up
for a set period. If you don't get on with the instructor,
once you have paid up front, you're stuck! There is
no small print with me - all I ask is that you agree to
the Terms of
Business

You
- Before you begin your
lessons, you
must have a valid provisional driving licence for the
category of vehicle you are learning to drive.
- Both your photocard
and paper counterpart must have your signature to be
legal and valid. Your instructor should check these
before you begin, so it's important to take both parts
with you for your first driving lesson. Your
instructor may ask to check them again at some stage,
so keep them in a safe place.
- You must be able to
read an old style (eg A 123 BCD) car registration
plate at a distance of 20.5 metres (67 feet), or a new
style
(eg A 12 CDE) registration plate at a distance of 20
metres (66 feet) before driving. This is legal
requirement. If you need glasses or contact lenses to
be able to read the plate at the required distance,
then you must wear them at all times whilst driving.
- If you can't meet
this requirement, then please see an optician before
you start your lessons. Your instructor should check
this before
you start. If you don't meet the requirement, you
won't be able to take your driving test, because this
is one of the first things
your
driving test examiner will check.
- You must be in
reasonable good health, and not be suffering from any
uncontrolled medical condition which may affect your
driving ability. If in doubt, check first with your
doctor. Remember there are some conditions you must
declare to the DVLA before being issued with a
provisional licence.
PLEASE NOTE:- If you are
booking a Theory Test or a Practical Driving Test online,
don't just "Google" or whatever for it, as the chances are
you may be directed to a third party website which will rip
you off for about £20 for a booking fee.
YOU DO NOT
NEED TO PAY A BOOKING FEE
